Chai Wei Wan earned her Bachelor of Laws (Hons) with First Class Honours from the University of Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) in 2023. Throughout her year of studies, she received the Academic Award of Dean’s List recognition every semester. In her final year (2023), she was the only student who had achieved full marks on two (2) written problem-based question (PBQ) assessments in Evidence Law II and Civil Procedure II.
She began the legal exploring journey in 2019 by gaining internship experience from three (3) esteemed institutions, Messrs. HL Lee & Co., Taiping Legal Aid Department and Messrs. Low & Partners. These formative experiences were acquired both before and during her four years of tertiary education, providing her with a solid foundation in legal practice. Subsequently, in 2023, she undertook pupillage at Low & Partners under the tutelage of her Master, Mr Tan Chik Wai and her Mentor, Ms Tan Yin Fong.
In 2022, she completed a virtual education consultant internship with Robot Galaxy Kids, Thailand, participating in the MYAsean Virtual Internship program – a collaborative initiative by TalentCorp and NexStep in partnership with the Ministry of Human Resources, Malaysia.
In addition to achieving a high co-curriculum mark during her secondary and Form 6 studies, amongst others, she received the prestigious Gold Award and Gold Mentor Award for The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award (also known as Anugerah Remaja Perdana Rakan Muda) on numerous occasions as listed below. Since her pupillage, she has been actively involved in events, activities, and sports organised by the Perak Bar and Malaysian Bar.
Ms Chai Wei Wan was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in August 2024 and subsequently joined our firm, Messrs Selvam, Nanda And Partners as a Legal Assistant in November 2024. She is currently assisting in a variety of conveyancing matters and she also handles a diverse range of work in both contentious and non-contentious areas of civil and commercial litigation, including but not limited to wills and probate, family law, personal injury claims, bankruptcy law, commercial law, debt collection, contract law, company law, labour and employment law, defending banking litigation and foreclosure proceedings and enforcement of judgment proceedings. She has a keen interest in this field and is committed to enhancing her expertise as a legal practitioner.
